This blog follows the assembly of an all aluminium Van's RV-8A aerobatic 2 place aircraft kit. When completed, the aircraft is inspected by the 'Light Aircraft Association's' approved inspectors and when satisfactory is granted a permit to fly. Aircraft kit no. is #80697

QB Wings.

This picture shows the QB Wings as 'delivered' by Vans aircraft. All the control links must be installed by the builder. I guess this ensures (hopefully) that the builder is not only fully liable for the build but also has a vested interest to see that the standards are ensured!!

Flaps and ailerons are also partially built. The Wings QB also has the 'tanks' completed. As per the Fuselage, the additional cost is approx $4000 above the normal wing kit price.

The gentleman in this picture is the originat kit purchaser.
