This blog follows the assembly of an all aluminium Van's RV-8A aerobatic 2 place aircraft kit. When completed, the aircraft is inspected by the 'Light Aircraft Association's' approved inspectors and when satisfactory is granted a permit to fly. Aircraft kit no. is #80697

Rudder Stiffner dampening

kingThe earlier kit skins were made of .016 skin that required some form of 'dampening' of vibration and also prevent minor cracking of the trailing

edges. I did not use proseal as it seems such a waste, however, I followed Van's advice and used a flexible automotive product.
